Whether you are a recent graduate, an experienced employee or someone pursuing changing career fields and seeking new challenges, consider a career move to DISD. It will be our pleasure to visit with you and answer any questions you may have about job opportunities.
Diboll ISD accepts all professional, support staff and auxiliary applications through an electronic process. This program will track your application and alert you via email (email is required) regarding your application status. You will be able to update your account using a password-protected login process. Please reserve about thirty minutes to complete the application and read the instructions carefully before beginning. It will be our pleasure to visit with you and answer any questions you may have about the online applications process.
The Human Resources staff, principals and other administrators review applications/resume to consider for available positions. The administrator exercises his/her discretion in determining which applicants to contact and interview.
The online job postings are updated as vacancies become available on our website. Be sure to view this page on a regular basis. In addition, the Human Resources Department recruits at various teacher job fairs across the state and through K12JobSpots.
All new candidates must complete an application online and apply for the position of interest.
Campus principals/directors will contact you for an interview. Interviews are scheduled at the specified campus/department. In order to make the interviewing/hiring process as streamlined as possible, please do not contact principals/directors directly by telephoning or just “stopping by” his/her office.
Recommendations for employment are made by the campus principals or department director. Once an applicant has been recommended for employment, you will be notified by the HR Department to schedule a time for completing the required new hire paperwork.
A vacancy for a position that requires a State Board for Educator (SBEC) certificate or professional license (e.g., nurse, speech language pathologist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, social worker, physician) will be posted on the district website for at least 10 school days prior to filling the position [TEC§11.1513(c)(d)].
Exceptions to the posting requirement:
Posting is not required for a position that affects the safety and security of students, as determined by the board. In addition, if a district cannot wait to fill a position held by a teacher during the school year, the district need not wait the full ten days, but must post the notice in the manner described above, as soon as possible. In this context, teacher is defined by TEC §21.201 as a superintendent, principal, supervisor, classroom teacher, counselor, or other full-time professional employee who is required to hold a certificate. The district is also exempted from providing current district employees a reasonable opportunity to apply for the position.
DISD reserves the right to not fill positions if it is determined by the Superintendent to not be in the best interest of the district.
*Applicants for all positions are considered without regard to race, color, sex (including pregnancy, , sexual orientation or gender identity), national origin, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran or military status, or any other legally protected status. Additionally, the district does not discriminate against an applicant who acts to oppose such discrimination or participates in the investigation of a complaint related to a discriminating employment practice.
In accordance with Title IX, the district does not discriminate on the basis of sex and is required not to discriminate on the basis of sex in its educational programs or activities. The requirement not to discriminate extends to employment. Inquiries about the application of Title IX may be referred to the district’s Title IX coordinator, to the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights of the Department of Education, or both.
Inquiries about the application of Title IX to employment should be referred to Title IX Coordinator, Shawna Neal, MA, LPC ,
